Case Study: Rural Adventure Centre
Our Mission
Provide internal & external access to high-speed broadband for staff and guests across a remote adventure centre facility in Monmouthshire.
Current situation: Slow internet provision provided via an ADSL broadband connection (traditional phone line). Weak mobile phone signal strength. External events field approximately 80 metres long with no power/utilities. Facilities are located on a multi-level area of ground. Management office is in a separate outbuilding. Location means no option for fibre-broadband.
Impact: Reduced operational efficiency; Discouraging/limiting customer event opportunities and facility bookings.
Need: Alternative high-speed broadband connectivity. High-power wireless network in strategic locations.
Solution
Our team designed and simulated a Starlink satellite broadband and wireless network solution using the latest Wi-Fi technology to provide a strong signal strength across the event's field, 2 floor mainbuilding and wireless connection to outbuilding/surrounding grounds.
Installation and Configuration
Starlink obstruction scans and wireless network simulations identified the optimal specification and location for devices and equipment. A cloud controller based router provides remote management with guest Wi-Fi option. High-power Wireless Access Points facilitate connectivity across entire event field for Point of Sale transactions, real-time image upload for social media content and Wi-Fi calling options (FaceTime/WhatsApp etc). A roaming Starlink service plan provides flexibility to upgrade/downgrade/pause service.
