About Performance Me

Specialist connectivity for complex environments

 A more capable, practical approach to connectivity — focused on real-world performance, not theory.


We design and manage connectivity systems for rural, remote, mobile and operational environments — where performance matters and standard approaches often fall short.


Performance Me was founded by Richard Thompson CEng, FIMechE, a Chartered Engineer with a background in advanced engineering at Williams Advanced Engineering (part of the Williams F1 Group).  The business was created to bring a more considered, system-led approach to connectivity — particularly in environments where reliability cannot be left to chance.

A different approach to connectivity

Most connectivity issues don’t come down to a single product or provider. They arise when multiple technologies, environments and requirements aren’t properly aligned.

Our approach is to treat connectivity as a complete system — from initial design through to ongoing performance.


This includes:


  • Understanding the environment and how the system needs to perform
     
  • Selecting and integrating the right technologies
     
  • Monitoring and managing performance over time

Beyond installation

While we work with leading technologies such as Starlink and UniFi, our role doesn’t stop at installation.

We operate across the full system — including the devices and services that rely on the connection — ensuring issues are resolved without being passed between providers.


This is particularly important in complex environments such as:


  • Multi-building estates
     
  • Remote and off-grid sites
     
  • Industrial and operational locations
     
  • Mobile and temporary setups

Our focus is not just getting systems online, but ensuring they continue to operate as intended, without ongoing frustration or uncertainty.

Experience in complex and constrained environments

Our approach is informed by experience working in remote and infrastructure-limited environments, including small island settings, where connectivity cannot rely on standard networks.


In these environments, connectivity is not just a technical challenge, but an operational and human one. Systems need to perform reliably with limited resources, and solutions must be understood, supported and sustained over time.


Where appropriate, we work alongside local teams, organisations and development bodies to support long-term capability — ensuring that systems continue to perform beyond initial deployment.


This perspective shapes how we approach every project, regardless of location — designing connectivity that performs reliably, even where conditions are less predictable.
